Praying for the Nations

We can prepare the way [for the King] not only through prayer but also through loving the people around us. If the church has obscured the view, let us by our acts of love and by befriending the lost prepare the way. This is part of what being a watchman means. That is to say that we are not just warning the church but warning, perhaps with tears in our eyes, those in our families or in our circles of acquaintances; we are exhorting them to come to the Saviour.
We need intercession, matched with interest in our neighbours; worship, hand in hand with witness; weeping in secret with wooing our friends; groaning with gaining a right to speak. In short, we need to be naturally supernatural and supernaturally natural as we prepare the way for the King.
