Lessons From 1 John

Walk in Light - We must embrace the light and shun the darkness. We cannot have fellowship with God or His people if we have hidden lives - our lives should be transparent.
Walk in Love - The imperative is to love God and our new brothers. Indeed, if we don't love them, we can’t love Him - it’s as simple as that. The command to love one another is described as an ‘old command’, even though Jesus described it as a ‘new command’. The reason is simple - it was now 60 years since it was first given.
Walk in Life - Christ has provided all that is necessary for living the new life; therefore the believers are encouraged to live in the good of it. It is clear that John’s passion is that the readers might experience the joy of fellowship with Christ, and that nothing should get in the way of that.
