Allow God To Act
Our business in life consists solely in keeping ourselves in the dispositions which allow God to act. There will surely be progress so long as we do not put our spoke in God’s wheels, as the saying is, in order to have our own way.
Love is the sole standard where God is concerned. Provided we come back to Him, the past is entirely blotted out. A great sinner who by contrition and penance has arrived at the same degree of love as a just man, has exactly the same value in God’s sight. This is the meaning of the Redemption, which makes the marred work of creation even more beautiful than it was before. To think otherwise would be to lessen the work of Christ. At the foot of the cross St. John stood on one side, St. Mary Magdalene on the other - on the same level!
