What is the International Justice Mission?

International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that bases itself on the bible's call to justice:
'Seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow' (Isaiah 1:17).
What is their vision?
To rescue thousands, protect millions, and prove that justice for the poor is possible.
They do this as a team of lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals, seeking to rescue victims of sexual exploitation, slavery and other forms of violent oppression.
History and growth
Founded in 1997 by Gary Haugen, IJM has now grown to over 500 employees, with 16 field offices in places like Bolivia, India, Thailand and Zambia.
Stories
IJM have achieved justice in numerous ways over the years. For example, they have helped release four families from slavery in an Indian brick factory, freed innocent men from a Kenyan prison, rescued countless girls from brothels, and helped convict a Guatemalan man for aggravated rape. Many more stories can be found on their website.
You can get involved in their work through justice campaigns, prayer, internships, art and more. Watch the video below to find out more:
