Living with Faith and Depression

Depression is one of those taboo subjects that churches just don't really talk about, but the reality is that 1 in 5 adults suffer from the illness. With those statistics, it's hard to brush under the carpet the fact that some of our closest companions, even those sitting in the pew next to us, will have depression.
The church can do a lot more to support those, inside and outside the church, who suffer from suppression. A good place to begin is prayer.
Faith in God does not make you immune to depression. Most recently we have seen this first hand in the terrible and traggic events surrounding the death of Rick Warren's son.
In this video, Katherine Welby speaks about the support of her family and her friends, whilst she lives a faith guided life, but also one where she must confront depression.
