Should Christians Work on Sundays?
Claiming she was forced to leave her job because of Sunday work, a Christian has lost her case against Merton Council.
Celestina Mba helped children with severe learning difficulties for three years before she was told she would have to start working on Sundays. Wanting to observe Sunday as a day of rest, she said she had been prepared to work night shifts and Saturdays instead.
Surprised at the outcome of the case, Miss Mba says, ‘I worked hard for years at my job, and to lose it because of intolerance towards my faith is shocking to me.’
