Sent to Syria

In the middle of a prayer event, God called Daniel Leal to go to Syria. It was terrifying, but as a result he became the first Westerner to capture photographs of the recent Tremesh massacre.
Pete Grieg, leading the prayer meeting, asked people to cry out to God for Syria. As Daniel did so, he felt a strong call to go. His photos are now being used by The Times, The Guardian, and many others. (A selection can be viewed here.)
As an eye-witness, Daniel was able to question the claim by the Syrian Government that rebel forces had initiated the attack. One encounter with God led to drastic change - The Red Cross has now labelled the crisis a civil war. Daniel became a powerful voice and shifted public opinion. As Pete Greig says, there is a strong link between prayer and mission.
