Prayer: When God Parachutes In

Last night the BBC programme 'Songs of Praise' exhorted viewers to pray. An interview with Pete Grieg, founder of the 24/7 Prayer Movement, brought refreshing honesty and faith. As well as explaining the movement, he spoke of his personal struggle with prayer when his wife Samie was diagnosed with cancer.
He emphasised that prayer is transformative - as we come before our Creator we are changed us and receive peace. Are you praying for God to intervene in a difficult situation or relationship at the moment? You might find encouragement in Grieg's final statement:
'God doesn't always airlift us out of our problems. Sometimes He parachutes in and joins us in the middle of the mess.'
