Many 'Free' Schools Faith-based

As 'free schools' emerge in the UK, around one third of them label themselves religious. Out of 100 new free schools announced, 33 are faith based.
Jeevan Vasagar from the Guardian suggests that this is because faith organisations have access to sites such as church halls, as well as instant resources through being part of a community.
The idea behind free schools is simple - to open up the education system to 'parents, charities and committed teachers' who desire to transform the schooling experience.
