How Do Churches Use Social Media?

Is your church innovative in its use of social media; or is it resistant to technology?
Perhaps it is somewhere in between.
Increasingly, churches are using social networks to communicate - a punchy sermon or key church family news is now reaching more people, more quickly, than ever before.
A recent survey by Christian digital advertising agency Buzzplant showed that many churches update Facebook everyday. Of the 25o churches that took part, 46 percent believe social media is their most effective mode of outreach (as opposed to knocking on doors, newspapers, television and radio).
However, 74 percent do not have a paid employee who updates their church's social media pages.
Many new ideas are emerging. For instance, some churches use Twitter in the middle of the Sunday service - members tweet questions which allows greater interaction.
How does your church use technology? Or do you have any innovative ideas as to how churches might utilise social media more?
