'Alarming' threat to Nigerian Christians

Most of us are able to go to Church safely whenever we please. For Christians in northern Nigeria however, this is far from the case. Muslim jihadist group Boko Haram have made a promise to 'eradicate Chrsitianity.'
Their form of attack involves planting bombs in churches, and even firing on worshippers. The Barnabas Fund reports that around 300 Christians were killed in one diocese alone.
Last weekend, three services were attacked as gunmen fired shots at the congregation. Even whilst fleeing, Christians were shot at 'indiscriminately' according to witnesses. Easter Sunday saw 40 killed in a suicide bombing outside churches.
Patrick Sookhdeo of Barnabas Fund said that going to church has become 'perilous' for Christians in Nigeria. He urged Christians around the world to pray for their protection as they courageously continue to meet together.
