Aggressive Atheism AttackedFrom hot topic Religious Secularism.

Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, has warned against a force intent on driving religion out of the public sphere.
He declares that he is not against secularism because it promotes healthy debate between believers and non-believers. However, he thinks that a strand within it has become increasingly intolerant, stamping down on religion everywhere.
He stressed that the Church needs to get more heavily involved in local communitites, in order to demonstrate the importance of religion. However, he adds that this must not replace worship, or preaching the word of God.
His comments add to those of Baroness Warsi, Conservative Party chairman, who has recently warned of 'militant secularism' threatening our society.
